Sommer May is a multi-faceted makeup artist who studied at Ryerson’s Chang School and achieved her makeup certification in the Advanced Makeup Artistry and Special Effects program in 2018.  Since then Sommer has expanded her knowledge and skill in all realms of makeup artistry. Ranging from editorial, beauty, special effects, film and television.

Her love of makeup is rooted in the editorial world of beauty, creating makeup looks full of colour and dimension. Her creativity has been a standout in the industry by embracing unique styles of artistry and self expression. Encouraging her clients to embrace their most authentic form through the world of makeup. Taking inspiration from abstract art, mythical creatures, celebrity moguls, film, nature, and her surroundings of the fashion scene in Toronto, Ontario. Sommer May continues to expand her knowledge and skill within the industry by not only creating striking makeup looks, but also creative directing for various photo shoots and music videos. Sharing her artistic eye and love for visual storytelling with fellow artists in the blooming creative scene in Toronto.

Sommer May has excelled in all facets of the industry, including print advertisements and editorial, magazine covers, fashion shows, film and music videos. Sommer is currently assisting with P1M agency and has had her work appeared in Urban Planet Kid’s Holiday Collection 2024 and Hidden Crowns 2025 print advertisement. Sommer’s editorial work has appeared in Flanelle Magazine, 17:23 Magazine, and Imirage Magazine. Along with Fashion Art Toronto’s Runway shows FW 2022 -2023 and SS 2022-2023 and Toronto Kid’s Fashion Week 2022. As well as debut runway collections from local Toronto designers Macel Studios and Macaroni by Danielle Venchiarutti in 2025. She has created makeup looks and directed “Mind Games” the music video for celebrity clientele Jordan Todosey. Along with creating looks for celebrity clientele Devin Chechetto, Hallea Jones, and Dani Douchette.
